Was recently reading an interview with Harry Callahan and one of the questions was...
Do you believe you're consciously trying to make the world more interesting?
He said this,
"I've had all kinds of attitudes. What I feel is that some of the great sculptures, painters, architects, and composures have left something really wonderful for me, and so I'd like to leave something for someone else. I thought at one time I should benefit humanity, but I don't even know what that means anymore. Then you think well you're doing it to satisfy yourself, but there's more to yourself than just satisfing yourself too. I feel whatever I have is a gift and so I have to take care of it like it was a plant or a child or anything else growing."

"I'm interested in revealing the subject in a new way to intensify it. A photo is able to capture a moment that people can't always see. Wanting to see more makes you grow as a person and growing makes you want to show more of the life around you." ~ Harry Callahan
